Often a cause for contention, Erika gets angry at her older twin sisters, Rhea and Olinda. True princesses spoiled by a father who lost his wife and had no real idea how to raise girls, King Tobias embellished them with silks and satins, gourmet dining, and all the niceties a young girl growing up in a castle could possibly want.
Rhea falls in love with Kairos the wizard much to her father's protest, and Olinda falls in love with Felix, whom she rarely sees since he lives days away in Tellwater Valley. There he remains as a soldier, fighting the dark lord's minions, and protecting the vineyard his father owns.
Both young women work little on their temperament until they are faced with danger. Rhea is prone to jealous fits of anger when Erika takes off with Kairos, and Olinda is prone to seasickness and swooning over her absentee lover.
They are noteworthy characters in this story, each playing a role in the battle for their kingdom.
